About Christina

I didn't come to this work through a textbook. I came through loss — the kind that arrives fast and stays. I was twenty years old, in one of those seasons that changes us before we understand how. In the middle of it I dedicated a final school project to the people I lost — and in the process of creating it, I discovered something that changed the direction of everything: that making something with your hands can hold what your mind cannot. Art, not words, met me there. And I've spent the rest of my life learning to offer that same meeting place to others.

"I understood then that art therapy is therapy. Not a softer version of it, not an alternative to it — the real thing, in its most honest form."

There are two thresholds in a life when the body changes faster than the self can keep up: adolescence, and the passage into midlife. Both arrive uninvited. Both rearrange the body, the hormones, the sense of who you are and what you're for. And both, so often, leave us searching for a way to say what's happening inside — a voice for what doesn't yet have words.

That search is where I've spent my career.

For over 25 years, I've worked at these two edges — with teens finding their footing in a changing body and a changing world, and with women moving through perimenopause and menopause, often feeling like strangers in a life they built. I don't treat these as separate populations so much as parallel journeys. Different ages, same terrain: identity loss, bodily upheaval, the quiet grief of an old self ending, and the slower, harder question of who comes next. For some clients, that identity work includes questions of gender and sexuality — this is simply part of the terrain of transition, not a separate practice.

Art has always been my way through. I found it myself after losing two close friends within two weeks of each other — grief that had no words, until I gave it a shape, a color, a mark on the page. That final art school project became the beginning of everything I do now. It taught me that creative expression isn't decoration for the hard parts of being human — it's a passage through them.

My work blends Somatic Experiencing, Creative Arts therapy, and mindfulness, with training in Kundalini Yoga. Rather than asking you to talk your way to insight, I help you build awareness of your felt sense — the wisdom held in the body — and use creative expression as a safe voice for what's moving through you.

Whether you're a teen finding your place outside of expectation, or a woman in the fog of a body and identity you no longer recognize, this work is an invitation: to come home to yourself, through the body, through creativity, and through being truly seen. I'm an LGBTQ+-affirming therapist and welcome clients of all gender identities and sexual orientations.

I hold an LCAT (NY) and LMHC (MA). I'd be honored to walk this transition along side of you.

What you can expect

Somatic awareness woven through everything — learning to read the felt sense, the body's quiet pre-verbal knowing, as the compass it has always been

Expressive art-making as the primary language — not to create something beautiful, but to give form to what's moving inside you

A steady, grounded presence — I show up genuinely enthusiastic about your process and rooted enough that you can afford to take risks

Private pay, no insurance — not a limitation, but a choice to keep the work fully present to you, greater privacy, without clinical structure between us.

I work with adults navigating life's transitions — the crossroads moments, the chapters that are ending, the selves that are ready to emerge. I work with seekers and creatives and the quietly restless. I work with anyone willing to show up and see what their hands already know.

You do not need to know how to draw. You never did.
